Project Summary

Our project involves the development of a GPS Signal Simulator capable of driving a commercially available GPS receiver. In most GPS applications, signals are received from the GPS satellites and these signals are used to calculate the position of the receiver antenna. We will be approaching the problem exactly opposite, in which the location of the receiver is known and we attempt to generate the corresponding signal. This allows a user to generate simulated GPS signals for any arbitrary situation which may be expensive, difficult, or even impossible to replicate in real life. The primary purpose for this device would be testing during the development of a GPS receiver.
