Micro-Controller Driven Display 2006

Presented by David Pavlik
Advised by Dr. Gutschlag
and the Electrical Engineering Department

This project will create a system to assist the Mechanical Engineering (ME) Department in the development and operation of formula cars. It will consist of a controller for a LCD display to display run-time data from the car. While this is a continuation of a project from 2005 and 2004, this project will redevelop the primary control interface with the display. Previous projects have centered on compensating for a driver chip that was difficult to use. This year an alternative, more user friendly, chip will be found allowing creation of a more robust and reusable interface. A micro-controller will gather information about the car, convert it into a usable form and display it in real time.
