Richard Post has created another system for the Inductrack which utilizes a double Halbach array called the Inductrack II. The double Halbach array creates nearly twice the magnetic field of a single-sided Inductrack. Due to the increased magnetic force, half the current is needed to create the force needed for levitation. The lift to drag ratio was also increased . An illustration of the double Halbach array is shown in figure 14.
The figure shows two sets of Halbach arrays, one on the top and one on the bottom, with the track between them. Both Halbach arrays have the same wavelength, but the upper array has a greater strength to provide a greater force upwards.
