ACTIVE SUSPENSION SYSTEM CONTROLS

Progress Report - Spring

Lab Week #6 Jan 19nd - 23rd

Update webpage and time table. Projected schedule for Spring is developed. Research feasibility of using Audio Power Amplifier and the number of power supplies needed to drive the actuator.

Lab Week #7 Jan 26th - 30th

Built Audio Power Amplifier circuit. Initial thoughts of frequency response data collection. Advisement by Mr. Gutschlag.

Lab Week #8 Feb 2nd - 6th

Begin collecting frequency response data collection under the advisement of Mr. Gutschlag.

Lab Week #9 Feb 9th - 13th

Continue frequency response data collection. Advisement by Mr. Gutschlag

Lab Week #10 Feb 16th - 20th

Forced to discard data collected to date due to current limiting problems. Restart data collection using a MosFET push-pull amplifier.

Lab Week #11 Feb 23th - 27th

Continue collecting frequency response data.

Lab Week #12 March 1st-5th

Began to interpret the collected frequency response data. Attempting to determine a lumped parameter model of the system.

Lab Week #13 March 8th-12th

Attempted to determine equivalent inertia and damping of system from the collected data. Full Simulink model determined. Designed a simple proportional controller for the lumped parameter system.

Lab Week #14 March 15th-19th

Spring Break Week!!

Lab Week #15 March 22nd-26th

Began to simplify the Simulink models using block diagram reduction. Linear assumptions are applied.

Lab Week #16 March 29th-April 2nd

Initial thoughts on analog PI controller and modeling problems encountered.

Lab Week #17 April 5th-9th

PI controller modeling designs and thoughts.

Lab Week #18 April 12th-16th

Implemented Analog proportional controller for Bradley University's Student Expo.

Lab Week #19 April 19th-23rd

Preliminary thoughts on digital controller implementation. Worked on final presentation.

Lab Week #20 April 26th-30th

Presented project status to students and faculty at the Marty Theater. Continued work on final paper.

Lab Week #21 May 3rd-7th

Project Demonstration
