Electronic Shoot Out Game
by Emelia Malek, Azrin Johari, and Nazry Jaafar Advisor: Steven Gutschlag Reflected laser energy is used in wide variety of applications, such as laser guided missile targeting systems. Similar technology is used in the electronic shoot out game to simulate the mythical nineteenth-century practice of gun fighting. The game is to be played in a special court wherein the players will stand facing each other at a fixed distance each each equipped with a replica revolver and a reflective vest. The objective is that the first player to draw his/her weapon, fire, and successfully receive the reflected laser signal wins the game. The project involves laser signal transmission, reception, and processing,
and also involves communication between microcontrollers. The project is
composed of the laser system, the control system, and the communication
system. The laser system, embedded in the weapon, consists of transmitter
and receiver circuitry. The control system consists of three microprocessors
placed in different subsystems; the weapon, the display board, and the
central controller.
