Implementation of Identification Algorithms on TMS 320C30
by Derek Parkinson Advisor: Dr. W. Anakwa In order to control process plants in industry, the mathematical model
of the plants must first be determined. The goal of the project was to
use the TMS320C30 DSP chip for the implementation of identification algorithms.
The project was carried out in two stages. First Matlab was used to model
a plant and identify its transfer function using the Recursive Least Squares
(RLS) algorithm. After this, the algorithm was programmed in C and compiled
to run on the TMS320C30 DSP. This allowed for the successful identification
of the transfer function of a second order plant.
