The series loaded PIN diode transmission line phase shifter using lumped components with a series connected biasing network will allow greater flexibility in tuning than the traditional shunt circuit. The component values of the biasing networks are determined by the ON-OFF characteristics of the PIN diodes at a certain frequency. The possibility of biasing networks with lumped components and in a separate board, will give certain flexibility in the design that is not found in the shunt loaded transmission line circuit.
