A parallel processing system is a system that uses several microprocessors
to implement a digital block diagram. Two 68HC11 evaluation boards were
used to implement a digital filter. Since multiplications are the slowest
operation performed in a filter realization, dividing the process between
the two boards increases the speed of the overall operation. The block
diagram was not divided into separate functions, but rather was arbitrarily
separated to show that the parallel processing algorithm does not depend
on where the division takes place.
