In order to understand today's technology, an attempt has been made to
design and construct a microprocessor. The processor has one user register,
the accumulator. It also has a 16 command instruction set and two address
modes, immediate and direct. The processor was designed using AHPL. The
sequence was designed from a series of flowcharts, and then computer simulated.
The sequence was simulated using HPSIM on the IBM PC, and the circuit was
computer simulated using Logic Works on the Apple Macintosh.
