The Loaded Transmission Line Phase Shifter
by Chik Wong & Amnad Ounayakovit Advisor: Dr. S. Navarro This project considers the construction of a loaded transmission line
phase shifter (LTLPS) with non-ideal diodes. The LTLPS provides the phase
control of a RF microwave signal by switching the susceptances between
these two diodes. The design procedure for this LTLPS will be presented.
It will emphasize the microstrip elements, the biasing circuit measuring
the diodes impedances and the phase reflection modulator in the imbedding
network. Also, the computer simulation by Touchstone of the final design
before sending it for the fabrication will be discussed. The design uses
a 50 ohm microstrip line and the operating frequency is 2.5 GHz.
