Temperature Control for a Greenhouse
by Ron Nielsen and Denny Fairfield With the importance of cultivation and protection of tender plants came
the need for a greenhouse. This project deals with one important aspect
of a greenhouse, temperature. A thermostat comprised of thermistors will
relay temperature information to a controlling processor, a Motorola 68HC11.
This processor, in turn, will communicate with fans and a furnace through
solid-state relays to control the temperature. Two features of this system
include; one, a user recognition of overall average temperature, and two,
the ability to program the upper and lower bounds of the temperature settings
with a keypad and a readout. In general, this system is compatible with
many temperature controlled environments.
